This region is located in the northern part of the country. Historically, socially and culturally it is one of the most important regions. Over the years a social and cultural diversity has developed, this has been perpetuated through traditions and ways of living that are notoriously different from other regions of the country.

The most important cities are Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta. The weather is between 24 and 34 ºC  with high humidity depending on where you are and the time of year.
