PACIFIC REGION

Is the area of greatest biodiversity and rainfall density in the country. It has one of the jungles with the highest number of species per square kilometer.

The Humpback Whales arrive in the Pacific region to procreate and mate, as do some species of Sea Turtles that come to spawn. In this region grows African palm, coconut palm and wax palm.

It includes the entire department of Chocó, and the coastal areas of the departments of Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño. The humid tropical climate of the rainforest prevails, with temperatures higher than 24 ºC and permanent rains.
